How to Use the Manage Team Feature in cPanel

Step 1: Open the Manage Team Tool:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.

  2. Scroll down to the Preferences section and click on Manage Team.

Step 2: Click on Invite Team Member:

  • On the team management dashboard, click the Invite Team Member (or Create User) button.

Step 3: Enter Team Member Details:

  • Email Address: Type the exact email address of your team member. An official cPanel invitation link will be sent here.

  • Username: Create a unique username for this member.

  • Notes (Optional): You can add a quick note for your internal records (e.g., "Freelance WordPress Developer").

Step 4: Assign Roles and Permissions:

This is the most crucial step. Check the boxes (✓) next to the specific roles your team member requires based on their task:

  • Administrator: Grants them full control over almost all cPanel features.

  • Database: Allows them to manage MySQL databases, phpMyAdmin, and database users.

  • Web: Allows them to use the WordPress Toolkit, File Manager, and manage domains.

  • Email: Grants permission to configure email routing, spam filters, and mailing lists.

Step 5: Send the Invitation:

  • Once the form is complete, click on the Send Invite button.

Step 6: User Verification & Setup:

  1. Your team member will receive an email from cPanel containing an Accept Invitation link.

  2. Clicking the link will redirect them to a secure page where they can set up their own Password.

  3. Once configured, they can log directly into your cPanel dashboard using their unique team credentials.

You can monitor their status ("Pending" or "Active") from your Manage Team dashboard and revoke or modify their access at any time.
