how to Install Free SSL in cPanel + Secure Your Website

An SSL certificate encrypts the connection between your website and your visitors, showing the padlock icon in the browser and changing your URL from http:// to https://. Hostcry makes it easy to install a free SSL certificate in just a few clicks using Let’s Encrypt; no technical experience required.

Step 1: Log in to cPanel.

Log in to your Hostcry Client Area and open your hosting account. Click on cPanel to access it. You can also go directly to yourdomain.com/cpanel and enter your cPanel username and password.

Step 2: Go to the Security Section

Once inside cPanel, scroll down until you find the Security section. This section contains all the tools related to protecting your website, including SSL management.

Step 3: Open Let’s Encrypt SSL.

Inside the Security section, find and click on Let’s Encrypt SSL. This will open the Let’s Encrypt SSL manager in a new window.

Issue a New Certificate.

In the Let’s Encrypt SSL window, scroll to the bottom of the page. You will see an Issue a New Certificate section listing your domain name. Click the Issue button next to your domain.

A confirmation prompt will appear. Click Issue again to confirm. Wait a few seconds while Let’s Encrypt generates and installs the certificate for your domain.

Once the process is complete, a success message will appear confirming that your SSL certificate has been installed.

Step 4: Check Your Website.

Open your website in a browser by visiting https://yourdomain.com (with https, not http). Look at the address bar, you should see a padlock icon next to your domain name. This confirms that your SSL certificate is active and your connection is secure.

💡 Tip: Force your website to always use HTTPS

To make sure all visitors are automatically redirected from http:// to https://, you can add a redirect rule to your. htaccess file or enable the Force HTTPS Redirect option inside cPanel under Domains. This ensures no one accidentally visits the unsecured version of your site.

✓ Your free SSL certificate has been installed. Your website now uses HTTPS and displays the padlock icon — your visitors’ connection is encrypted and secure.
