How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Hostcry account. Once enabled, you will need both your password and a code from an authenticator app to log in. Follow the steps below to set it up.

Step 1: Go to Security Settings.

Click on your profile name in the top-right corner to open the dropdown menu. Select Security Settings

Step 2: Open the Two-Factor Authentication Tab.

On the Security Settings page, you will see two tabs: Linked Accounts and Two-Factor Authentication. Click on the Two-Factor Authentication tab. You will see the following message:

Two-factor authentication is currently disabled. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication to provide an extra layer of security to your account

Step 3: Click Here to Enable.

Click the Click Here to Enable button. A popup window titled Enable Two-Factor Authentication will appear. It shows the Time Based Tokens method, which uses an authenticator app like Google Authenticator. Click Get Started to proceed.

Step 4: Download Google Authenticator:

On your mobile phone, open the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iPhone). Search for Google Authenticator and install it. Once installed, keep it open and ready for the next step.

Step 5: Scan the QR code.

After clicking Get Started a QR code will appear in the popup window. Open the Google Authenticator app on your phone and scan the QR code. The app will generate a 6-digit authentication code. Copy that code and paste it into the Enter authentication code box on the screen.

Step 6: Click Submit.

After entering the 6-digit code, click the Submit button. Two-Factor Authentication is now enabled on your account. From now on, every time you log in, you will be asked to enter both your password and a code from the Google Authenticator app.

Your account is now secured with Two-Factor Authentication. Keep your phone with the Google Authenticator app accessible whenever you need to log in.
