Step 1: Open the User Manager Tool:
Log in to your cPanel account.
Scroll down to the Preferences section and click on User Manager.
Step 2: Click on Add User:
On the top right corner of the User Manager dashboard, click the Add User button.
Step 3: Enter the User's Basic Information:
Fill out the form with the following details:
Full Name: Enter the user’s actual name (e.g., John Doe).
Username: Choose a unique username (e.g., john). This will serve as their login ID.
Domain: If you host multiple domains, select the specific domain this account should belong to.
Contact Email Address: Enter the user’s personal email address where they can receive password reset links and system notifications.
Step 4: Configure Password & Security:
You have two options for setting up the password:
Option A (Recommended): The user will set the account password. Selecting this sends an email to the user with a link to configure their own secure password.
Option B: Set the user’s password. Select this if you prefer to create a strong password manually and share it with them directly.
Step 5: Configure Services (Email, FTP, Web Disk):
Scroll down to the services section and toggle Enable (On) for the permissions you want to grant:
Email: Turn this on to create a custom
@yourdomain.comemail inbox for the user. You can also set their inbox quota limit here.FTP: Enable this if they need to upload files to the website. You can restrict them to a specific folder (directory) so they cannot view your other system files.
Web Disk: Turn this on if you want them to navigate and manage server files directly from their desktop or mobile device.
Step 6: Create the Account:
Review all the settings, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the Save or Create button.
The sub-account is now successfully created!
